Smelter injured in fall on board

In the morning of Dec 29, 2022 the Port Authority of Igoumenitsa was informed by the Master of the 'Asterion II' about the injury of a 49-year-old smelter aboard the ship en route from Patras to Venice in the morning of Dec 27. The 49-year-old lost his balance in the ship's car deck, resulting in a fall and injury to his left upper limb. He was disembarked and transferred to a hospital for further medical examinations. A preliminary investigation was carried out by the Central Port Authority of Igoumenitsa.

Medevac off Brindisi

On June 21, 2022, at 10.40 a.m. the Port Authority of Brindisi was contacted by the 'Asterion II', which requested the immediate disembarkation of one of its passengers, an Italian woman, aged 66 years old, for an alleged fracture of the left leg. The ship was en route from Igoumenitsa to Venice, and was about 25 miles south of Brindisi. The Port Authority of Brindisi, in contact with the International Radio Medical Center (C.I.R.M.), deployed the patrol boat 'CP 844' and asked the ferry to proceed towards the outpost of Brindisi. At 12.15 p.m. the patrol boat reached the ship about 1,5 miles from the port of Brindisi and took on board the woman who was taken to the port of Brindisi, where an ambulance of the Health Service took care of her at 12.45 p.m. and transferred her to the "Perrino" hospital.

Engineer injured in work accident

In the night of April 4, 2022, the Port Authority of Patras was informed about the injury of the 2nd engineer of the 'Asterion II' on its scheduled route from Patras to Italy. He was injured in the upper right extremity and was transferred to the University General Hospital of Patras for medical treatment after the ship berthed in port at 10.15 a.m. A preliminary investigation was carried out by the Port Authority of Patras.
