Medevac off Ouessant
On Feb 24 at 6.45 p.m., the CROSS Corsen was alerted after a 32-year old crew member of the "Bara Mann" suffered a hand injury. Following a telephone conerefence between the Maritime Medical Center in Toulouse, the Medical Maritime Coordination in Finistère and the CROSS, a medevac was decided. The vessel was 50 miles NE of Ouessant. The CROSS Corsen dispatched a Cayman helicopter of the Navy Base Lanvéoc-Poulmic with a medical team on board which reached the vessel at 8.25 p.m. The patient was hoisted at 8.41 p.m. and taken to the hospital Cavale Blanche in Brest where he was deliverea at 9.05 p.m.
Medevac off Brest
On Nov 5, 2014, the "Bara Mann" contacted the Maritime Medical Consultation Center (MMCC) Toulouse to seek medical advice after a 33 year old French crew member suffered a severe inflammation of the left hand. The trawler was 140 miles west of Brest then. Around 3:30 p.m., after a conference call between the MMCC Toulouse, the SAMU 29, the CROSS Corsen and the trawler, a medical evacuation was decided. The CROSS Corsen dispatched a Cayman helicopter of the Navy flotilla 33F which took off at 4 p.m. from the naval air base Lanvéoc-Poulmic with a medical team on board. Medevac off Pointe du Raz
On Jan 20, 2013, at 7:10 p.m., the "Bara Mann" contacted the CROSS Corsen and indicated that a crew member was severely wounded at the hand. A conference call was immediately initiated between the CROSS, the trawler and the Marine Medical Consultation Center Marine in Toulouse. A medevac by helicopter was recommended. The fishing vessel was located approximately 110 km west of the Pointe du Raz. The CROSS Corsen dispatched an NH90 helicopter of the Navy Base Lanvéoc, which took off at 8:10 p.m. with a medical team on board. The injured sailor was hoisted and taken to the hospital Cavale Blanche in Brest, where he was delivered at 9:35 p.m. Weather in the area was winds of 20 knots, a moderate sea and average visibility.
