Medevac in Piraeus
The Central Port Authority of Piraeus was informed by the captain of the "Blue Star 2" in the afternoon of Aug 7 that a 75-year-old passenger was in urgent need of hospitalization. The ship had sailed from the port at 6:20 p.m. with 1,660 passengers on the route Syros - Patmos - Leros - Kalymnos - Kos - Rhodes. At 6.40 p.m. it returned to Piraeus. The passenger was taken by an ambulance to the Attikon University General Hospital. The ferry sailed again aat 7:15 p.m. to perform its scheduled itinerary.

In the early morning hours of Aug 7, 2019, the Port Authority of Syros was informed by the captain of the "Blue Star 2" on the death of a 55-year-old passenger of the ship while it was enroute from Leros to the port of Piraeus, while the ship was operating from Rhodes port to the ports of Kos-Lerou-Patmos-Syros-Piraeus. The incident occurred while sailing from the port of Patmos to the port of Syros. When the ship arrived in the port of Syros, the 55-year-old man was taken by ambulance to the General Hospital of Syros where his death was pronounced.
