NISSOS CHIOS to return to Gibraltar Strait
Hellenic Seaways’ 2007-built NISSOS CHIOS – now part of the Attica fleet – is set to leave her homeport of Piraeus for the Gibraltar Strait on 31 October. The 1,782-passenger and 418-car (530 lanemetres) ro-pax ferry will initially be introduced on Africa Morocco Link’s (AML) Algeciras-Tangier Med route.
Ramp damage in Chios
The "Nissos Chios" suffered a damage to the ramp in the evening of Aug 18, 2018, when leaving the port of Chios during its scheduled service from Piraeus to Chios. The Central Port Authority of Chios initially detained the ship. After the damage was repaired and a certificate of the classification society was presented, it was allowed to sail again at 10.30 p.m. instead of 8.45 p.m. with 285 passengers on board.
Ferry suffered technical damage
The "Nissos Chios" with 235 passengers, 18 vehicels and six motorcycles on board sustained damage to the hydraulic of a ramp while departing from Paros port on Apr 11, 2018. The vessel started its scheduled voyage with an eight hours delay the same day after completion of its repair works and the class inspection.News schreiben
