One dead and three injured during demolition work
A serious working accident took place aboard the "Captain Tsarev" in the commercial port of Brest in the afternoon of Aug 12, 2016. There was one dead and three wounded on board the ship which was being demolished.They were poisoned by the fire system that was triggered without reason. The system sends CO2 in the atmosphere, and the dose was lethal to one of the workers. Several vehicles of the SAMU and firemen were on scene. The bulk carrier was abandoned by its owner in 2008. In May, the ship dismantling had been validated and assigned to Recycleurs Bretons.
