Crew of detained ship complaines over supply shortages
The crew of the 'DL Lily' has been confined to their ship for three months after Indonesian authorities confiscated their passports. The crew included a South Korean captain, eight South Korean and eight Indonesian sailors who said Indonesia authorities have not been supplying food regularly. Injured people on board were unable to move but authorities have not provided medical care. On Jan 15, 2020, a South Korean foreign ministry official denied food issues on DL Lily and said Seoul has been aware of the crew's detainment since Dec. 5, and that the government has confirmed food was being supplied. South Korean diplomats have not made direct contact with the crew, however.
Tanker detained for unauthorized anchoring
The 'DL Lily' was detained in the waters off Tanjung Berakit, in Riau Islands, Indonesia, on Oct 9, 2019. The Indonesian Navy detained the vessel and its crew for unauthorized anchoring. On Oct 13 the ship which had been enroute from Port Klang to Singapore remained stationary on Tanjung Uban Anchorage.
