Engine trouble le in Tinos
The Port Authority of Tinos was informed by the Master of the 'Flying Cat 3' that upon the departure from the port of Tinos, the vessel suffered a mechanical failure, which turned out to be an error in the control panel of the port main engine, in the evening of June 23, 2023. The vessel was due to carry out its scheduled service with 250 passengers, who were forwarded to their destinations by the ship's owning company. The Port Authority of Tinos prohibited the sailing of the vessel, until the damage was repaired, and a certificate of class maintenance was issued by the classifier monitoring it.
Engine failure in Rafina
The Rafina Port Authority was informed in the morning of Aug 17, 2022, that the "Flying Cat 3" had suffered a mechanical failure of its port side main engine, before its departure for the scheduled route from the port of Rafina to the ports of Tinos, Mykonos and Naxos with 109 passengers on board. The Central Port Authority of Rafina initially prohibited the sailing of the ferry. After repairs and the presentation of a certificate of maintenance of class by the monitoring classification society, the sailing ban was lifted, while the passengers were forwarded to their destination by the ship-owning company.
Ferry suffered engine trouble
On June 21, 2021, the scheduled sailings of the 'Flying Cat 3' from Rafina to Tinos, Mykonos and Naxos stopped in the waters of Steno Kafireas due to a damage to its starboard side main engine. The ferry with 57 passengers and 13 crew members on board returned to the port of Rafina in order to repair the damage. The ship had departed at 7:45 a.m. from the port of Rafina.
