Ferry suffered engine damage
The Port Authority of Poros was informed on Feb 6, 2022, at noon by the master of the 'Flying Cat 6' about a mechanical failure of the starboard side main engine en route from the port of Hydra to the ports of Poros and Piraeus with 83 passengers opn board. The ship sailed safely to the port of Poros where the passengers, as well as the 52 persons who were waiting at the port for boarding, were forwarded to their destinations with the care of the ship-owning company. The Port Authority of Poros initially banned the ship from sailing. After presenting a certificate of seaworthiness and class maintenance by the attending classification society the ferry was allowed a single voyage without passengers to the port of Perama for permanent repairs, where it arrived in the morning of Feb 7.
Engine damage off Aegina
On Feb 1, 2020, the 'Flying Cat 6' with 67 passengers and 11 crew members on board suffered a damage to the port side main engine two nautical miles northeast of Aegina while operating from Piraeus to Poros-Hydra-Ermioni-Spetses-Porto Heli. The ship returned to Piraeus. The passengers were transported to their destinations with the care of the shipowner.
Ferry disabled by rope
The "Flyingcat 6" had to return to the port of Piraeus on May 17, 2018, at 4.15 p.m.where the 297 passengers were dropped off. The ferry had been disabled by a rope which was jammed around one of its two propellers, being en route to Poros, Hydra Spetses and Porto Heli. The passengers were carried to their destinations by another ship. The "Flyingcat 6" sailed again on May 19 at 9.10 a.m.
