Medevac from yacht during sea trials
The lifeboat "Joke Dijkstra" of the KNRM-station Den Helder medevaced a mechanic from the "Fountainhead" in the afternoon of June 7, 2011. At 1.30 p.m. the alarm wa raised at the station Den Helder that the man had seriously injured his hand. 12 minutes later, the "Joke Dijkstra" passed the Schulpengat towards the brand new yacht which was also approaching the gat and, still flying the flag of the shipyard, had been engaged in sea trials. Half an hour after the alarm, the lifeboat went alongside at the stern of the yacht. The patient was taken aboard, and the "Joke Dijkstra" returned Den Helder and the injured man delivered at the local hospital. The yacht berthed at Harlingen the same afternoon.
