Medevac off Crete
The Port Authorities of Chania, Heraklion and Paleochora were informed in the morning of March 17, 2023, that a 53-year-old crew memberof the 'Furness Victoria', which was sailing 38 nautical miles southsouthwest of Paleochora, Crete, needed immediate hospital care. A Greek Air Force helicopter immediately took off, which picked up the man and transported him to the University General Hospital of Heraklion, for medical treatment.
Engine trouble near Cowans Pt.
The 'Furness Victoria' was disabled due to an engine problem near Cowans Point, Bowen Island, British Columbia, in position 49 19 01.0 N, 123 22 17.0 W, on Feb 11, 2021, at 6.45 p.m. The tug 'Lindsay Foss' was called to assist and towed the vessel to the Constance Bank Anchorage, where it was moored at Anchorage 5 for repairs. On Feb 14 it berthed at the Fibreco Export Inc. in Vancouver.
