Fisherman lost over board
A crew member of the 'Mascaret III' fell over board on April 29, after a sailor from the fishing vessel Mascaret III fell into2021, in the waters west of the Chausey archipelago. The CROSS Jobourg was informed at 8:15 a.m. and engaged numerous search resources: the Dragon 50 helicopter from Granville, the Caiman helicopter of the French Navy base in Maupertus and two lifeboats. A boat from the maritime gendarmerie was also deployed , as well as several fishing vessels from Saint-Malo (Ille-et-Vilaine). The Jersey Coast Guard has mobilized its own resources. The strong tidal coefficients at the origin of powerful drift currents made the search complicated. After more than 13 hours of search, the SAR operations were interrupted around 9:30 p.m. due to the fall of the night.
