Medevac off Ouessant
In the late afternoon of Sep 27, 2011, CROSS Corsen was alerted that a man was injured aboard the "Idatsa", registered Guilvinec. The victim lost consciousness for several minutes. The trawler was located 67 nautical miles northwest of the island of Ouessant. After a conference between the the MMCC in Toulouse, Brest and CROSS Corsen, it was decided to evacuate the fisherman. An EC 225 helicopter of the Navy, with a medical officer on board, was dispatched on site to conduct the hoist of the wounded. He was evacuated to the hospital Cavale Blanche.
