Cooling pipe broke off Lundy
The 'Grand Benelux', en route from Bristol to Antwerp with 2269,5 tonnes cargo on board, suffered a broken cooling pipe and cracked cylinder jacket in position 51 13 04.8 N, 004 21 21.0 W, 12 nautical miles east of Lundy on April 20, 2022, at around 11 p.m. UTC. The repairs were estimated to take five hours. The vessel needed to allow the engine to cool down before the crew could start rectifying the problem, while the vessel was drifting with the ability to use the bow and stern thrusters if needed. After the repairs were completed, the ship resumed its voyage with an ETA as of April 22.
Engine trouble on North Atlantic
The 'Grand Benelux', while enroute from Antwerp to Valencia with 1.698 vehicles on board, suffered a leak in the engine in position 50 29 36.0N, 000 08 46.8W on April 24, 2021, at 11.30 a.m. Replacement parts were required, and the repairs were completed within 35 minutes. The vessel resumed its voyage at noon with an ETA as of April 28.
Oil leak in engine room
