Double trouble off Great Yarmouth

Wed Mar 11 10:11:36 CET 2020 Timsen

The 'Green Storm' suffered a complete double engine failure 11 miles north of Great Yarmouth on March 10, 2020, at 01.15 a.m. The lifeboat of the RNLI station in Gorleston proceeded to the position and offered initial towing assistance to the vessel. The utility vessel 'Voe Vanguard' (IMO: 9809693), which sailed from Great Yarmouth at 6.40 a.m., then took over the tow from the lifeboat and pulled the 'Green Storm' to Great Yarmouth where it was berthed at 12.40 p.m.

Vessel detained due to a lack of certificates

Sat Apr 28 14:02:19 CEST 2012 Timsen

During a routine inspection, officials of the Water Police on board the "Marinceco Mariah" in the port of Emden found a lack of requiered certificates on Apr 27, 2012. In addition to the required security clearance for work boats it also lacked a so-called equivalency certificate. The ship is actually supplying wind turbines off Borkum. For this purpose the ship needs a certification comparable to German ships of the Professional Association for Transportation Industry in Hamburg. After consultation with officials of the BG traffic the ship was detained in port.
