13 crew members rescued after ship sank
The 'Hang Sheng 88' sank 40 nautical miles off the coast of Huilai County in the Guangdong province in the afternoon of Nov 12, 2021. The ship had suffered water ingress and started to list. The 13 crew members went into the lifeboat and were rescued in the course of an SAR operation, directed by the Guangdong Maritime Safety Administration. The vessel's AIS has been turned off since June 2021, the last known position of the vessel was 25 34 51 N, 119 41 29 E, about 8,4 nautical miles from Port Songxia on June 9.
