Disabled ship towed to anchorage
The 'Hayama Star' has been towed by the anchor handling tug 'K.J. Gardner' to Point Linus anchorage and was moored in position 53 25 51 N, 004 13 01 W on Dec 14. The 'K.J. Gardner' remained on standby at 200 metres distance. The spare parts to repair the defect have not yet arrived, and the ship remained stationary as of Dec 15.

On Dec 12 the AHTS 'K.J. Gardner', contracted from Rotterdam, arrived at the anchorage of the 'Hamayma Star' at 11.30 a.m. to standby the vessel and support, if required, during high winds. DCPSO, SOSREP, and Duty Surveyor have been consulted. An engineer assessed the defect and ordered spare parts on Dec 11, which were due to arrive on Dec 13. The bulk carrier remained moored in pos. 54° 07.69' N 004° 28.06' W off Wallberry near Douglas.

On Dec 9 the 'Hayama Star' weighed anchor and started heading towards Liverpool with own power at a speed of four knots or less to rectify the defect with an ETA as of Dec 12. The AHTS 'K.J. Gardner' (IMO:9420150) was believed to be contracted from Rotterdam to assist the vessel.
