Fishing vessel towed to Camariñas
The 'Hermanos Istillarty' contacted the CCS Fisterra of Salvamento Marítimo on April 18 at 9 p.m. The crew requested towing assistance, after the propeller got fouled by fishign gear. The SAR boat 'Salvamar Altair' was mobilized and towed the ship to Camariñas.
Medevac off Finisterre
A crew member of the 'Hermanos Istillarty' was transferred onto the hospital ship 'Esperanza del Mar' on June 15, 2022, following a heart attackt. Once aboard the vessel, it requested the medevac of the patient 455 miles west of Finisterre. Salvamento Marítimo mobilized the SAR helicopters Sasemar 102 and Helimer 401, which rendezvoused with the vessel 188 miles off the coast. The patient was hoisted and transferred to the Hospital of Santiago.
