Dive boat grounded at Loch Sunart

The 'Honeydew', with 14 people on board, ran aground on the rocks of Slgneach Mor, about 2,7 nautical miles northeast of Tobermory, in pos. 56 40 07 N, 005 58 58 W at the entrance to Loch Sunart on Sep 4, 2023, at 10.40 a.m. Two fish farm boats whith were nearby provided assistance among other rraft. The Tobermory RNLI lifeboat was tasked to assist, and the landing craft 'Sarah Ann' in vain attempted to tow the 'Honeydew' off the rocks and then took on board the 11 passengers and three crew members, as the tide was falling. They were transferred to the Tobermory lifeboat and returned to Tobermory. The fish farm boat helped the dive boat crew to set the anchor, secure the vessel and then took off the remaining three people. The dive boat was refloated by the fish farm boats and escorted into Tobermory port by the Tobermory lifeboat with the rising tide at 7 p.m. The SAR operations terminated at 8.30 p.m. Report with photo: https://rnli.org/news-and-media/2023/september/07/tobermory-rnli-launches-to-aground-dive-vessel

Missing diver recovered well

The 'Honeydew' issued a distress call after a 60 years old male diver was missing, with yellow drysuit and 15 litre cylinder of one hour and 20 minutes duration, delayed surface marker buoy, in pos. 60 06 09.8 N, 001 04 24 W, at the southern tip of Bressay, Giants Legs, on Aug 3, 2023, at 10.07 a.m. UTC. The MRCC launched an SAR operation. The diver was finally found well by the 'Honeydew' and taken to shore by the Lerwick RNLI lifeboat, and passed in the care of Scottish ambulance.
