Windfarm boat assisted in medevac

A fisherman had to be airlifted to hospital in a dramatic rescue operation five nautical miles off Rhyl's and Prestatyn's shore in the morning of May 13, 2023. The RNLI boat of Rhyl was paged at 11.21 a.m. after the skipper of the local sports fishing vessel "Merlin" from Rhyl reported a sick passenger on board five miles off Rhyl. It rushed to the scene and helped transfer the patient to the 'Ceni Valour' which had responded to the mayday call, as there was more room on the deck for a casualty transfer to the helicopter. A Coastguard helicopter of the Caernarfon airport hoisted the victim on board and he was flown to Ysbyty Gwynedd in Bangor for treatment. His condition was not known.
