Third ferry accident in Amsterdam within two weeks
In the afternoon of May 15, 2018, at 5 p.m. the "IJveer 52" had a hard landing at the quay behind the Central Station in Amsterdam. It seemed as if the vessel was out of control and was disabled. First it crashed hard against the quay and then hit it a few more times. The captain was trying hard to keep the ferry under control. One person was injured. An ambulance was called, and the victim was treated on the spot. An investigation was being carried out into the cause of the allision.
