Ferry sidelined with technical fault
The 'Ivar Aasen', serving between Mordalsvågen and Solholmen (Molde), had to cancel its sailings on Aug 30 at 5.45 p.m. due to a technical fault until further notice by the operator Fjord 1. The ship was sidelined at the quay on Solholmen. Later on the evening, Fjord 1 the reserve ferry “Eira” was inserted with the first departure at 8:35 p.m. from Mordalsvågen. There were large queues on both sides of the connection. it was unclear how long the "Ivar Aasen" would be out of service. It remained stationary in Molde as of Sep 1.
Ferry suffered technical issue
The ''Ivar Aasen' serving on the route Solholmen-Mordalsvågen in Molde, had to cancel its service on March 20 at 7.45 p.m. The reason is a technical fault, the Norwegian Public Roads Administration reported. A little later it was announced that the route would be resumed. There was an extra trip from Mordalsvågen at 8:10 p.m. and from Solhomen at 8:30 p.m.
Troubled ferry blocking quay
The 'Ivar Aasen', serving on the route between Solholmen and Mordalsvågen, ran aground on a reef on the late evening of March 5. 2026. The ship was breached, and 1,5 tons oil leaked out. The operator Fjord 1 announced that the connectionwas was suspended with the "Ivar Aasen" blocking the quay at Solholmen. The company was waiting for permits before the ship could be moved, to be able to deploy a reserve vessel. The route was served again on March 6 at 3.35 p.m. The 'Ivar Aasen' left Tomrefjord after repairs on March 19 and returned onto the route.
