Engine failure off Hayardapasa
On Aug 13, 2022, the 'Janaki', en route from Istanbul, suffered an engine failure in front of the Haydarpaşa breakwater and requeired assistance. The tugs 'Kurtarma 9' and 'Kurtarma 10' as well as the lifeboat 'KEGM 4' and a pilot were deployed to the ship which was safely anchored at the C Anchor Area under the coordination of the Istanbul Ship Traffic Services Center at 9.45 p.m. As of Aug 14, it remained stationary in pos. 40° 56.21' N 028° 50.79' E.
