Lifeboat rescued 50 boat people

In the night of April 12, 2022, the CROSS Gris-Nez identified a boat in difficulty in the Strait of Pas-de-Calais off Leffrinckoucke. After analyzing the situation, the CROSS deployed the 'Jean Bart II' of the SNSM station in Dunkirk to assist. The Jlifeboat picked up 50 castaways and dropped them off at the port of Dunkirk. Once back at the quay, the castaways were taken care of by the border police and the departmental fire and rescue service.

On Aug 11, 2021, the CROSS Gris-Nez regionalas informed that several migrant boats were in difficulty in the Strait of Pas-de-Calais. One migrant boat was in difficulty off Sangatte. The CROSS deployed the PSP 'Flamant' to assist which recovered the seven castaways as well as their boat and dropped them off at the port of Dunkirk where they were taken care of by the departmental fire and rescue service. and the border police. The CROSS Gris-Nez was next notified by the fishing vessel 'Sainte Catherine Labouré' that a boat is was difficulty off Dunkirk. The CROSS again tasked the 'Flamant' which recovered the 29 castaways on board. As one castaway was unwell, the CROSS initiated a medical evacuation of the patient to the Dunkirk hospital. A Dauphin helicopter of the French Navy base in Le Touquet carried out the medevac. A medical team from the University Hospital of Boulogne-sur-Mer was dropped off on the patrol boat. After being conditioned by the medical team, the castaway was hoisted aboard the helicopter and dropped off at the Dunkirk hospital where he was taken care of by medical personnel. The other castaways were brought back to the port of Dunkirk where they were taken care of by the departmental fire and rescue service and the border police. The CROSS Gris-Nez was then contacted by the customs coast 'Kermorvan' whích reported a boat of migrants in difficulty off Calais. The boat picked up the 37 castaways and headed for the port of Calais, where they were taken care of by the departmental fire and rescue serviceand the border police. The CROSS Gris-Nez also deployed the lifeboat 'Jean Bart II' of the SNSM station Dunkirk to assist a boat in difficulty off Dunkirk. It recovered 35 castaways and headed for the port of Dunkirk where they were taken care of by the departmental fire and rescue service and the border police. On July 09, 2021, the CROSS Gris-Nez was notified about migrant boats in difficulty in the Strait of Pas-de-Calais. It was first contacted by a migrant in distress off the coast of Boulogne-sur-Mer The 'Abeille Languedoc' was deployed to assist and took care of the 39 castaways on board. They were dropped off at the port of Boulogne-sur-Mer where they were taken care of by the firefighters of the departmental fire and rescue service. The CROSS Gris-Nez was next contacted by another boat in difficulty off Dunkirk. The CROSS deployed the lifeboat 'Jean Bart II' of the SNSM which recovered the 42 castaways (including five women and two children. They were dropped off at the port of Dunkirk where they were taken care of by the border police. Finally the CROSS Gris-Nez was informed by the yacht 'Babar' that a migrant boat was in difficulty off Gris-Nez The patrol boat PSP 'Cormoran' recovered the 22 castaways on board. They were dropped off at the port of Calais and then taken care of by the border police and the firefighters of the departmental fire and rescue service.
