Yacht aground in Bermuda
The "Jetsetter" ran aground in the Great Sound at Bermuda on June 12, 2017, in the afternoon. The vessel ran aground in the vicinity of Stag Rocks in the Dockyard area at around 1 p.m. There were no reports of water intake or of any injuries. Initial attempts to pull the vessel clear of the reef failed and it was decided to try and pull the yacht free on the next high tide. The salvage plan was being co-ordinated through Marine and Ports for the tug "Faithful" to attempt to pull the vessel free around high tide at 11 p.m. All guests were taken ashore while attempts were made to lighten the vessel. A local salvage contractor accompanied by Marine and Ports assets returned and successfully pulled the vessel free at 8.45 p.m., with two workboats. They then towed her to a site located in the Little Sound area in Bermuda and the boat dropped anchor there for the night south of Morgan’s Point for a hull survey.
