Roro ramp broke
The 'Sangke Palangga' suffered a mechanical failure at the port of Tanjung Bira in Bulukumba on July 7, 2020. The roro ramp broke when a truck was entering the vessel. The vessel was sidelined to undergo repairs.
Ferry grounded off Marapokot
the "Sangke Palangga" with 83 passengers and 28 crew members on board ran aground on a reef five miles off Marapokot port at he northern coast of Central East Nusa Tenggara in the Flores Sea on Jan 11, 2019, around 3 a.m.. The ship was enroute from Jamoea Harbour in South Sulawesi to Marapokot Mbay Port in the Nagekeo Regency. The speed boat KM "Hidayatulah" was deployed to the grounding site. By 9.45 a.m. the passengers - 11 children and 72 adults, were safely evacuated and transferred to Marapokot. The ferry was stuck in pos. 08°26'6.84″ S 121°17’49.62″ E. The crew was waiting for the high tide to get the ship refloated. Wave heights of 0.5 meters and wind speeds of 20 knots were on scene. After being freed, the ship docked at port of Marapokot to unload its cargo.
