Freighter suffered engine malfunction
In the afternoon hours of April 16, 2019, the "Kostas Dimakis" suffered an engine malfunction while manoevering at the Vitzi commercial pier in Parikia upon Paros. The captain informed the Port Authority of Paros accordingly. The malfunction was remedied with the ship's own means and the ship securely berthed at the jetty. It was banned from sailing until the class maintenance certificate was presented by the classification society. On April 17 at 3.40 p.m. the ship left port again and headed to Thira, where it berthed on April 18 at 1 a.m.
Engine damage off Euboea island
On Apr 11, 2016, the "Kostas Dimakis" suffered engine failure south of Euboea island. The vessel dropped anchor in the Karystos Bay and reported the situation to the Karystos port authorities which banned it from sailing until the problem was resolved and a survey conducted.
