Sailings cancelled and delayed due to technical issue
On May 11 , the 'Loch Fyne', serving on the route Tarbert-Portavadie, suffered a technical issue that required further investigations. As a consequence, the 5:30 p.m. departure from Portavadie had to be cancelled. The 6:00 p.m. sailing from Tarbert and the 6:30 p.m. sailing from Portavadie remained liable to delay or cancellation. After the issue was successfully resolved, the ship departed from Portavadie at 6:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. and from Tarbert at 7:00 p.m.
Ferry needs repairs to exhaust system
The 'Loch Fyne', serving on the route Mallaig -Armadale, requires repairs prior to her return, During routine inspections, it has been discovered that sections of the exhaust system onboard the ship have to be attended. The ship berthed at the Dales Marine Systems in Greenock on April 7. Repair proposals and timeframes are currently being developed by a technical team of the operator CalMac in conjunction with external contractors. The ferry 'Loch Bhrusda' will remain on the route during this time. Due to the 'Loch Bhrusda' having a smaller capacity, some bookings may be affected. Port teams will be in contact with impacted customers.
Ferry suffered repeated technical issues
On Feb 2, 2025, the 'Loch Fyne', serving on the route Largs-Cumbrae Slip [Millport], suffered a technical issue that required further investigation. As a consequence, the service had to be suspended. The ship was again out of service due to a technical issue with the vessel’s forward main engine on the foremidday hours of Feb 6 and remained sidelined in Largs. After the crew completed final checks, the service was resumed with the 10:45 a.m. sailing departing Largs.
