Bosun fatally injured during cargo operations
During wood chip loading operations on the 'Maple', a Turkish bosun was squeezed between the deck and a shoreside mobile crane at the Keystone loading terminal in Jacksonville on Jan 2, 2022. A port emergency team immediately attended the scene and provided further first aid assistance together with vessel's crew. Despite of the medical assistance, the man died. Subsequently his body was transferred to the local hospital morgue. An incident investigation file wasplaced by the harbour master and the local public prosecutor. Upon completion of investigations and cargo loading operations, the vessel sailed from Jacksonville o Gebze on Jan 16, where it arrived on Feb 6.
