Trawler grounded off Isle of Harris
The "Minch Harvester" ran aground on rocks west of Eilean Stocanais, Isle of Harris in position 57 48.350 N, 006 47.811 W, on March 30, 2019, at 7 a.m. The crew initially tried to free the ship by own power but failed. The vessel was assisted by a lifeboat and was towed off at 12.15 p.m. It was then taken to Stornoway where it was to be inspected for damages after arriving at the quay.
Trawler grounded at Eyemouth
Both Eyemouth RNLI lifeboats were launched by the UK Coastguard on Nov 24, 2018, at 06:30 a.m. after it was reported that the "Minch Harvester - CY 702" had run aground leaving the harbour. A tow line was passed but due to the falling tide, the trawler was stuck fast. With assistance from Coastguard teams, the vessel was secured and the volunteer crew stood by until the trawler re-floated and towed it into deeper water. Once it was confirmed no damage had been sustained, the lifeboat was stood down and returned to station, around six hours after the initial call. Disabled trawler towed to Mallaig
On Feb 23, 2018, the "Minch Harvester" with three persons on board, reported a rope caught around the propeller or rudder in lat 57 06.9N, long 05 45.7W at 0719. The ship dropped its trawl door to act as anchor. The Mallaig lifeboat was tasked to assist and towed the vessel safely to Mallaig harbour.
