Medevac off Westkapelle

On Oct 18, 2011, the lifeboat "Zeemanshoop" was called to carry out a medevac from the "Mirfak" after a crew member suffered brest pain. After a communication with the Medical Radio Service of the KNRM it was decided to take the man ashore. The liefeboat departed from Breskens and headed towards Oostgat near Walcheren where the "Mirfak" was approaching. Off Westkapelle the man was taken aboard the lifeboat and taken to Flushing where he was transferred to an ambulance st the Poseidon Floating Pier. Tender of Mirfak capsized in rough seas

Off the coast of Schouwen-Duiveland the jet-powered pilot tender of the "Mirfak" capsized on Aug 11, 2011. The four crew members were rescued by their colleagues and taken to the hospital in Goes. One of them remained for a night under observation in hospital. The reason for the accident was bad weather with high waves. The SWATH pilot boat "Cetus" towed the small pilot boat back to Flushing.
