Spare parts stolen by robbers
A door to a spare parts room aboard the "Mito" was found broken open by robbers nx the duty engineer on Jan 11, 2019, at 7 a.m. while the vessel was at Cigading anchorage. He reported the incident to the chief engineer and 1st Officer. Upon inspection, spare generator parts were found to be missing, presumably stolen by the robbers. The incident was reported to the ship's agent and manager, and the number of duty deck personnel was increased. On Jan 24 the ship was moored in position 005 30 35 S, 105 20 12 E near Tarahan.
Charges over boat protest in Tasmania
Environmental activists face charges after they boarded a ship yesterday at port of Hobart to block the loading of veneer from Ta Ann's Huon Valley mill. Inspector Glen Woolley said the activists faced charges of trespass and obstructing police. Five were arrested. One was remanded in custody for breaching bail conditions. The protesters from the Huon Valley Environment Centre boarded the Mito at Macquarie Wharf about 5.30am. Five attached themselves to the top of a loading crane. It took police until about 10.45am to get them down, using a Tasmania Fire Service long ladder.
