Grounded ship blocked Kiel Canal
On Dec 23, 2017, around 8 p.m. the "MSM Dolores“ ran into the embankment of the Kiel Canal at km 88,5. the ship turned around in the fairway and got stuck with the stern on the other side. The canal was blocked between the ferry pt. Landwehr and Schwartenbek. The traffic control alerted the tugs "Bülk" and "Holtenau“ from Kiel which managed to pulll out the ship at 11 p.m. It was then towed to Kiel where the water police started investigations in the North Poort around midnight. Divers were called to survey hull, rudder and propeller. The shhip left Kiel again on Dec 24 at 9.30 a.m. It was enroute from Lisbon to Bronka´, ETA Dec 27.
