Mærsk Deliverer back on the job
Mærsk Deliverer has successfully completed her five-yearly special periodic survey (SPS) yard stay ahead of time. The scope for the yard stay was extensive, with more than 210 job packages and 584 work orders that needed to be completed within 35 days along keyside - which makes for a very efficient and successful SPS yard stay. The scope, among others, involved Class recertification, BOP upgrade & overhaul and overhaul of the entire drilling package. Deliverer has now successfully resumed drilling operations offshore Angola.
Ultra deepwater semi-submersible Mærsk Deliverer receives two-year contract extension
Cabinda Gulf Oil Company Limited, a Chevron subsidiary in Angola, has extended the current contract for the ultra deepwater semi-submersible Mærsk Deliverer expiring in June 2015 by two years. Mærsk Deliverer has since 2012 been working for Chevron and its partners on the Tombua Landana field offshore Angola.
Namibia contract for Maersk Deliverer signed
Maersk Drilling has signed a contract with Chariot Oil and Gas Limited - for the ultra deepwater semi-submersible Maersk Deliverer for work on the Tapir South prospect offshore Namibia. “We are pleased to have secured this contract with Enigma for one of our advanced ultra deepwater rigs”, says Claus V. Hemmingsen, CEO of Maersk Drilling. “The contract reflects the growth in demand for modern, high-spec drilling rigs in the West African waters, where recent finds confirms a very strong potential in this market.” The contract is for one well with an estimated duration of 60 days. Commencement is anticipated to take place at the end of March 2012. The contract value is USD 34 million.
