Tanker left Antwerp after four weeks
The "Nordic Nelly" which had suffered loss of its steering while leaving Tees on June 5, 2018, and was assisted back in to port at QE2 berth by the tug "Fiery Cross" and another tug sailed on June 21 and arrived at Antwerp on June 21. The tanker left on July 18 at 6 p.m., bound to Harwich.
Tanker towed to Antwerp Shiprepair
The Teesport VTS organised two tugs. among them the "Fiery Cross", to assist the disabled "Nordic Nelly" back in to port where it berthed at the QE2 berth. The tanker arrived at Antwerp Shiprepair in tow of a tug on June 21 at 5.30 a.m.
Steering trouble off Tees
The "Nordic Nelly" suffered a steering loss in the evening of June 5, 2018, shortly after leaving Teesport bound to Rotterdam at 9.09 p.m. The Teesport VTS organised two tugs to assist the vessel back at the QE2 berth in the port. The tug "Fiery Cross" was first on scene to assess the situation, the second tug was arrived at 11.30 p.m. The vessel was anchored in position 54 39.767 N, 001 06.217 W. It had 5.000 tons of benzene and 100 tons of low sulphur gas oil on port. It was towed back to port on June 6 at 5.45 p.m.News schreiben
