Tanker got stuck off Hansweert
The "Obsidian" got stuck on Sep 27, 2018, at 12.20 a.m., while proceeding upstream on the river Scheldt on its way from New Orleans to Antwerp off Hansweert. The tanker was under way again within about one hour and anchored at the Schaar van Ouden Doel, just across the Belgian border for an inspection. As this did not reveal any damage, the ship was cleared to sail and entered a basin of the Canal Dock in Antwerp where it berthed at the Vesta Terminal Antwerp at 7 a.m. Possibly there was no bottom contact, but the ship encountered a shoaling effect, which kept it on one spot for about an hour.
