Dangerous goods containers did not maintain minimum distance

During a control aboard the 'One Grus' (IMO: 9806067) at the Container Terminal Altenwerder in Hamburg on March 18. 2020, the police remarked that two containers with dangerous goods did not have the required minimum distance The boxes were filled with alkaline goods and acids. The minimum distance must be observed in order to be able to exclude and prevent chemical reactions between the components in the event of an accident. As a consequence 132 containers had to be moved so that the two containers maintained the required distance. It was, however, not expected that the departure of the ship on March 19 would be delayed.

Ocean Network Express Receives 14,000-TEU Containership “ONE GRUS”

Ocean Network Express Pte. Ltd. (ONE) is pleased to announce that ONE GRUS, with a carrying capacity of 14,000 TEU, has been successfully delivered at Kure Shipyard of Japan Marine United Corporation. The sublet owner is Nippon Yusen Kaisha. This is ONE’s first delivery this year, and the 5th newly built 14,000 TEU magenta containership, after ONE COLUMBA (delivery date on 16th November 2018). It is equipped with outstanding safety and environmentally-friendly capabilities such as structural arrest technology and highly efficient welding technology.
