Fire in engine room - one man missing
The "Cilacap Permina Samudra 104" suffered extensive damage in a fire in the engine room on Sep 15, 2014, around 11.30 p.m.. The fire broke out on in the Java Sea, about a mile south of Kotabaru, South Kalimantan. 56 crew members have been evacuated, but the chief engineer was trapped in the engine compartment and was still missing and presumably dead. The vessel had a total of 26 crew members on board and was carrying 45,000 tons of diesel fuel.
