Mooring rope stolen by robbers

Thu May 14 09:26:19 CEST 2020 Timsen

On May 10, 2020, at 6 a.m. the Duty Able Sea Man on routine rounds aboard the 'Port Phillip' noticed an aft mooring rope missing, presumed stolen, while the ship was berthed in position 18 41N, 72 21W, at the port of Lafito. The alarm was raised, the crew mustered and searched the vessel. The Lafito Port Control and the ship's agents were notified. The port security officer and terminal authorities searched the port area around the vessel.

Crew member died on board

Tue Mar 12 19:30:34 CET 2019 Timsen

A 29-year old Filipino crew member of the "Port Phillip" was found dead in his cabin in the morning of March 10, 2019. The vessel had just left Arica, bound to Manzanillo. When he didn’t show up for his watch, his cabin was checked and the man was found dead. The master decided to interrupt the voyage and return to Arica to undergo all necessary procedures. The bulk carrier resumed the voyage later that day as no foul play was found in the seaman’s death.

PORT PHILLIP 9377975

Wed Apr 27 07:48:27 CEST 2011 arnekiel

For the first time since 2007, a logging ship is being loaded at Port of Everett. Port officials believe it means good things to come for the local economy. The “Port Phillip,” a Korea-bound ship carrying 25,000 tons of logs from Washington state, is scheduled to set sail Tuesday night. The ship also brings jobs for about 30 local longshoremen. http://www.king5.com/news/business/Port-of-Everett-loads-first-logging-ship-in-four-years-120740939.html
