Dockers in Rotterdeam blocked &O ferry after mass sacking of crews

Dockers in Rotterdam refused to load freight onto the 'Pride of Rotterdam' set for Hull on March 25, 20220, in solidarity with the 800 seafarers sacked by P&O on March 17. The vessel was eventually able to leave the Europoort in Rotterdam. A row of cheering dockers blocked the entrance to the ship in Europoort. The action also sparked action in Hull on March 26 when dozens of P&O workers supporters walked on the A64 and slowed down traffic entering King George Dock from Hedon Road. P&O sacks its crews

On March 17, 2022, P&O ordered all its ships back into port to sack the 800 crewmembes and replace them by cheap agency workers. At the present time the P&O fleet are located as follows, out of service. Pride of Kent / Canterbury = Dover Spirit of Britain = Dover Spirit of France = Schiedam (refit) Pride of Hull = Hull Pride of Rotterdam = Rotterdam European Highlander = Cairnryan European Causeway = Larne Norbay = Liverpool Norbank = Liverpool It is unclear at this point if Dutch vessels are affected by the crew changes. Replacement crew are on hand at Dover, Cairnryan and Larne.

Ferry delayed because of suspicious package

Hull passengers have been left stranded in the Rotterdam after a suspicious package was found aboard the "Pride of Rotterdam" on Nov 21, 2017. Customers were due to board the ferry just before 5 p.m., but had to wait in a nearby pub. Police and military were in the terminal building, with all vehicles being turned away. They have found a suspicious package in the terminal and it was being investigated. By 8 p.m. passengers were being allowed back on board. There were reports the ferry would dock in Hull up to two hours late the next morning. Some ferry passengers have been told fireworks were found in the male toilets onboard.
