Trawler with fouled propeller was threatened to drift aground

On Dec 8, 2019, at 10.40 a.m. the crew of six of the 'Risvik', 210 gt, notified the MRCC Northern Norway that the ship got the propeller fouled by its net west of Tarhalsen, north of Sørøya. The ship was in danger of drifting against the rocky coast. The Coastguard deployed the patrol boat 'Farm', and the SAR boats 'Gjert Wilhelmsen' and 'Odin' came to assist and arrived on scene after about an hour. Meanwhile, the trawler had dropped its anchor without that the situation could be improved. A Sea King helicopter arrived and tried to blow the vessel off the coast by using rotor wind. Around noon, the 'Odin' had the ship in tow and it was pulled into the port of Hammerfest by the NSSR lifeboat 'Odin' at 4.45 p.m. where the obstruction was removed.
