Disabled ship towed to Hull
The 'RMS Ratingen', en route from Szczecin to Antwerp with seven crew members on board, suffered an issue with the engine crank. It anchored in position 53 42 28N, 000 25 54W, in the Humber River near the Humber Bridge in the morning of Aug 19, 2021. Later it was taken under in tow by harbour tugs and pulled to the Albert Dock in Hull, where it was berthed at 3.20 a.m.
Electrical failure off St. Aldheims Head
On Feb 21, 2021, at 6.15 a.m. the 'RMS Ratingen', enroute from Pasajes to Poole with seven crew members on board, suffered an electrical failure between engine and bridge in position 50 23 58 N, 001 58 38 W, about 11 miles south of St. Aldheims Head. The vessel was loaded with 2.350 tonnes of steel profiles. The crew carried our repairs, which were completed at 7.15 a.m., and the shiop resumed its voyage and arrived in Poole at 11.10 a.m.
