Ailing fisherman medevaced off San Carlos de la Rapita
On Sep 2, the fishing vessel 'San José Primero' requested the medical evacuation of a crew member. He received a first assessment from the crew of the hospital ship 'Juan de la Cosa'. The CCS Tarragona of Salvamento Marítimo mobilized the 'Salvamar Achernar', which transferred him to La Rápita, where an ambulance was waiting for further transport to hospital and subsequent medical care.
SAR boat responded to yacht fire

Fishing vessel towed to Vinaros
On Aug 30, 2024, the Spanish flagged fishing vessel 'Campeon Primero' with eight crew members on board suffered an engine failure 13 nautical miles east of Torrenostra (Castellón) and requested towing assistance to Vinaros. The CCS Castellón of Salvamento MArítimo mobilized the 'Salvamar Achernar', which took the vessel in tow and safely pulled it to Vinaros.
