Fishing vessel disabled by ice floe collision
The 'Hongjin No. 707' with 39 crew members on board lost steering after colliding with an ice floe in the Antarctic, East of the Zuchelli Station in the Terra Nova Bay on Jan 10, 2020. The crew tried to fix the damage, but failed, and contacted the Korean authorities, requesting assistance. The Korean research icebreaker 'Araon' (IMO: 9490935) responded and reached the disabled fishing vessel on Jan 14. It took the casualty in tow towards the Ross Sea.
