Tug under repair in Altinova
The 'Snipe' suffered a technical failure at Ortona on Dec 1, 2020. As the crew could not carry out the needed repairs, the tug 'Buccaneer' was contracted to tow the vessel to Yalova for repairs. The towage operation commenced on Jan 9, 2021. upon completion of towage approval formalities. During the Canakkale Strait passage,a Coastal Safety tug provided escort service for the vessel and ensured Strait traffic safety. The convoy arrived in the Yalova shipyard area on Jan 17 at noon. The vessel berthed at the Sefine shipyard pier in the evening. Shipyard technical teams meanwhile have commenced the repairs.
