Collision off Huelva

Sat May 01 19:17:48 CEST 2021 Timsen

On April, 30, 2021, at 4.30 a.m. the 'Sti Pimlico', while en route from Mohammedia, was in collision with the LNH tanker 'Bilbao Knudsen' which had just left Huelva towards the Gulf of Cadiz in the port’s anchorage area. Both ships suffered damages and dropped anchor near the collision site. The 'Sti Pimlico' was damaged at the starboard side of the forecaslte and lost her starboard anchor’ flukes and crown. The LNG tanker was dented at port side. Also deck railings were damaged – watch photos. As of 1230 UTC May 1, both ships remained anchored. The LNG tanker was moored in pos. 37° 5.49' N 006° 53.76' W, the 'Sti Pimlico' in pos. 37° 4.73' N 006° 54.03' W.

Badly damaged tanker needs lot of repair work

Thu Aug 06 20:25:17 CEST 2015 Timsen

Some new photos and video from the Besiktas Shipyard in Altinova, where the ship docked on July 27, were showing the extent of damage sustained by the "STI Pimlico" following its collision with the "Celestial Crystal" in the Dardanelles Strait on June 27 near Gallipoli. While the cruise ship sustained some minor damage to its bow, the tanker was badly damaged in the collision, which caused some of the ships flammable naphtha cargo to spill into the water. The scope of repairs will include the replacement of steel, blasting and painting of affected ballast/cargo tanks, renewal of damaged main deck outfitting, electrical systems and piping.
