Svealand pulled off

Fri Dec 16 15:35:44 CET 2011 Timsen

The "Svealand" was sucessfully salvaged off Frøya in South Trøndelag. Divers who had checked the hull had found a tear in an uncritical place, and water entered a tank in the bow region. The lifeobat "Sundt Flyer" served as on-scene coordinator, and the tugs "Øyvåg" and "Øykraft" which together have 40 tons bollard pull, the "Erik Bye" with a 10-tonne bollard pull and "Sundt Flyer" with 6 tons achieved the success at high tide around 3 p.m. The "Svealand" headed with own power to Sistranda on Frøya for hull surveys.
