Medevac off Cape Cod
The Coast Guard medevaced a man approximately 200 miles east of Cape Cod from the "WG Cook" on May 27, 2013. Watchstanders at the Coast Guard First District received a report at approximately 5:30 a.m. from the seismic research vessel of a 58-year-old male suffering from chest pains. A Coast Guard Air Station Cape Cod, Mass., MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter crew and an HU-25 Guardian aircraft crew were immediately launched. The Jayhawk crew arrived on scene and safely hoisted the man from the vessel. He was taken to awaiting EMS at Barnstable Municipal Airport in Hyannis, Mass., and transferred to Cape Cod Hospital in Hyannis.
