Crane ship recovered lost hatch covers

On Jan 7, 2025, the 'Theodorus' was called from Rotterdam to recover three hatch covers, measuring 8x6 metres each, which were blown overboard from the self propelled barge 'Ancora Imparo' (MMSI: 244660292) near Bohmte on the Mittelland Canal in a strong storm on Jan 6, while the ship was en route from Minden to Amsterdam. The canal between Bohmte and Kalkriese in the Osnabrück district was closed until the evening of Jan 7. Divers were able to recover the parts and reattach them to the cargo holds. The incident caused considerable waiting times for ship traffic.
