Suspicion of illegal oil disposal

On Nov 1, 2018, around 11 a.m., officials of the maritime police Wismar, during a check on the "Fortuna", noted inconsistencies in the records of the Oil Diary Part I. There was a suspicion that 1.5 m³ of oil residues were not retained on board. Evidence of an illegal disposal could not be obtained. An administrative offense procedure was initiated against the responsible senior engineer and a security deposit of EUR 791 was set. The ship left Wismar again on Nov 2 at 3.50 p.m., bound to Koge.

Russian master of Fortuna fined

The Russian captain of the "Fortuna" has received a fine of 10000 Danish Crowns for not having timely reported the grounding of his ship off Bandholm on Feb 12, to the Admiral Danish Fleet. The police interrogated the captain on Feb 14. It was estimated that 1,5 hours passed before he made contact with SOK which was too long. The fine was paid immediately, and on Feb 15 the ship could resume its voyage. The unloaded vessel had been examined by divers who found that there was no damage to the hull. On departure from Bandholm the ship had taken a pilot on board. It reached the port of Malmoe on Feb 16.

Fortuna floating again

Thu Feb 14 16:47:32 CET 2013 Timsen

The "Fortuna" was finally pulled off the ground close to the channel between Bandholm and Askø by the tug "Sontinja" at high Tide around noon on Feb 14. The ship was berthed in Bandholm at 12.15 a.m. The "Fortuna" will now be examined by divers. When it is unloaded, it may be allowed to resume the voyage if no damage is found. The anti Pollution vessel "Marie Miljø" remained on standby in the port of Bandholm as a precaution.
