Water ingress in engine room
The Naval Prefecture Argentine assisted the "Vieirasa Quince" which had suffered water ingress in the engine room on Sep 23, 2018, at noon, at the height of Chubut city off Comodoro Rivadavia. While the crew activated the bilge pumps, the captain alerted the Prefecture which established contact with a fishing vessel operating in the area and coordinated the escort of the "Vieirasa Quince" towards Puerto Deseado (Santa Cruz) ensuring permanent communications with both vessels. The Coast Guard deployed the "GC-70 Río de la Plata" and put a helicopter and a plane on standby.
